Post Boises records before Harsin
Harsin did worse than the previous coach.

Then do Washington’s
DeBoer did much better

Well that settles it. DeBoer in the SEC Championship this year.

DeBoer was there two years and left as soon as his QB and 6 year O line were done (and UW had to play in the Big 10). Probably shrewd of him to cash in now, but we never got the chance to see if he fell off “like” Harsin, who still was the class of the MWC.

DeBoer is a good x & o guy, can clearly get a team pulling in the same direction quickly, but we have no idea if he can sustain a program, deal with boosters, recruit at a high level, win without a Heisman caliber QB, field a decent defense, etc etc etc. that’s a lot of unanswered questions for a “home run” hire for a program that holds themselves in the esteem of Alabama.

I’d be wondering if Greg Byrne was a bit too sure of himself…perhaps a little more deliberation was in order…but the die is cast now
