Depends on the size of the talent gap. If it's huge, probably more like 95%. If it's medium, probably more like 65%. If it's small, 50/50 or better in favor of the better coached team.

Sayin is transferring because of money?

Not saying you're wrong, but I don't know enough about him to say. Either way, imagine someone being such a loser that they would invest ten years and thousands of posts in an alter.

He retired because he got tired of F with NIL for todays recruiting pool and the portal.
He needs to nut up and say it but he can't right now because he is trying to help save this mess.

Texas A&M has had one of the most talented rosters based on recruiting in recent years and struggles to break .500 due to coaching. Just one example.
This should be the argument for anyone who says talent is the only thing that matters. A&M pulled in the highest rated class in history and lost to App State a few months later. It also didn't stop OSU from getting run over by a lesser talented Michigan three years running.
Bama will have a talented roster next year as well. No need for anyone to pretend 2 and 3 stars are left to fill out every position group.

The development and x's and o's part of Saban's coaching really fell off the last few years. We were almost always out schemed and we were constantly making mental errors. This is why Nick ultimately stepped down imho.
Look at our offense this year. It was a disaster. Thankfully talent overcame a lot. He hired Rees to run the offense and he was a failure.
I think we have straight up rockstars on the staff from a coaching standpoint. Getting players is the biggest unknown right now.
We're so used to having to have 5 stars at every position in order to win games that we believe that's the only way...it's how Nick won 6 Natties but in this new era that isn't possible to sustain those type of rosters.
I don't expect DeBoer to win 6 freaking natties of course but I believe we can still compete at the top year and year out. He just needs a win off the field. Getting Ryan Williams would be gigantic.

No he really is. Imagine spending your entire life stalking a rival team’s message board.

Saban has always been direct and honest in public statements in my opinion. I'll take him at his word. His age was becoming a problem with recruiting and my own eyes can tell it was a bigger problem with recruiting staff than players at the end.

Agree totally. Kicking the can down the road doesn’t last long. The only coach that is sustaining the Saban method is Kirby. Not Sark, not Kiffen. Sark has his own way and Kiffen is smoke screen. Look at Ole Miss. record against top 25 teams.

Not really. If we are talking a huge talent gap...yes. Saban had a good staff for a
majority of his Bama tenure...and when he did that was when he won the most.

when FSU and UGA are way closer.
Makes one wonder if both of these programs are recruiting at such a high level, how do they have room for our portals? I'm pretty sure Georgia over recruits due to players leaving early like Bama does. Not sure about FSU. But Georgia made room for 2 Safety's from Bama. That just seems weird to me.
