Sayin is also 6'1. Mack is 6'6. DeBoer has also already reached out to 2025 Tennessee QB commit George MacIntyre who is 6'5.5. He seems to like the taller QBs so maybe Sayin is just not a good fit for what DeBoer wants to do.

Everyone complained about Rees and Milroe but neither were a good fit for each other. Do we want the same issue moving forward.

I think it's less that he likes taller QBs and more that tall QBs tend to have big arms, which is what he actually does like. Seems like a ton of people are so deep in their feelings over Saban retiring that they haven't bothered to really look into our new coach and how he likes his teams to play. We're going to push the ball down the field. Then we're going to do it again. And again. And again. Maybe Sayin would have done fine in that kind of system or maybe not. I think if he was encouraged to look elsewhere that was a mistake, but if you consider what DeBoer likes to do and compare it to Mack's skill set it's not surprising that he's enamored with the kid.
