Really curious for those in the know...did Mack coming in cause this or did we bring in Mack because it was coming?

DeBoer said it was “exciting” news. What he meant was that it would be exciting for other fanbases.

Maybe he meant Mack? By DeBoer’s standards that is a big recruit. Has CKD ever signed a single five star before?

Still no evidence at all that DeBoer can recruit. Would be nice to have some soon.

These are guys that came to play for Saban. Just know this, the one's that stay are playing for the Alabama legacy. And that's why they'll be winners!!

That sucks but whatever. Bama will just have to play with the guys who want to be there. Hopefully DeBoer and his staff can get the most out of who we have.

You came to the wrong place.

If it's the former then we have lost nothing of value. If it's the latter then at least we didn't backfill the spot with some G-5 kind of player.

yeah there’s no way to spin this start to the DeBoer tenure as anything but awful

I like the staff he’s put together, but at this point he’s lost 4 guys projected as 1st rounders.

All these guys were willing to wait and hear the new coaching staff out. None of them believed in CKD’s vision. Bleak.

I care a little bit, but the world is still rolling. As I already posted, we have 29 in the portal but we have 77 on campus. Math is hard but that puts us at -8. Let's see where we are at the end of the portal.

I was not concerned with losing Sayin, because I thought DeBoer and Grubb's reputation would entice any quarterback. I became concerned when Mack was brought in.

This is probably the most indefensible loss for the new staff to this point. Bond was in the portal before DeBoer was announced, Robinson was already looking elsewhere, we knew Downs was upset with his coaches leaving, and there had been news about Proctor wanting to be closer to home for some time. No great excuse here really.

No way this is on DeBoer at all. You can’t hold a gun to these kids and make them stay. They weren’t his guys. He will get his players. Quit crying you babies.

We all knew this was coming. Im fine with it. The kid is a freshman, more of these "cant miss" QBs bust than make it and Deboer brought in a guy he already knows can play. If the kid was the real deal, hed welcome the challenge, considering this is probably the most QB friendly offense at an elite program now.

Horse shite. Austin Mack is a talented QB with a year of college under his belt. This is at worst an even trade.

Sucks to lose him. But still plenty to work with on the roster. Can’t really miss something you never had. Dude was here for what, a month?

Do you honestly think we’d be seeing these kinds of transfers if we had hired Sark, Kiffin, or Lanning?
