This is next hurdle for CFB. Harbaugh has been calling for it, now Bjork in his press conference at OhioSt brought it up.
Bama may not have the NiL budgets some schools have, but revenue is a different story. Bama has been top 3 in revenue for the last 15 years, I don't see any way that changes much.
This will truly separate the haves/have-nots. It's also why TV contracts and being a part of the super conferences is so important.
I also believe this will create more structure. Contracts with players requiring them to stay
..etc. A percentage cap would be nice too. That would mean you have a set budget every year, and have to spread it out. Can't give it all to 5 or 6 players and forsake everything else.

I really hope people see what’s happening and after they get done pointing and laughing, they come to the realization that rules that result in entire rosters being blown up while the team can’t add players is a nightmare for everyone involved.

Going to pay the swimming teams, Tennis, and all the other teams as well?

I would rather revenue sharing and actual regulation than this wild wild west bullshite fans have to fund from their private businesses while the universities and broadcast networks still get rich

Which will further destroy the game most love.

Big assumption here as no one really knows.
Revenue sharing I doubt happens. You think these players are greedy now wait until you tell them they are also responsible for losses. Unless you are actually meaning profit sharing which the colleges would more go for.

Now you are talking about employment which will kill CFB and probably the majority of male Olympic sports on campus.
Need to remember any university(which is all of them in the country private or public) that receives federal money even just for research has to follow Title 9 for their employees. Meaning every program if athletes become employees will have a to give a specific amount to every female athlete as well.
So basically any non profit generating sport that a college has for men will probably be gone to cover the cost of the female athletes who probably generate no profit.

The problem is that there will always be NIL money.

Good, it’s long overdue. Make them employees and not students (thus resolving the “pay other sports” issue) and get a CBA. The NCAA, conferences, and schools have taken advantage of unpaid labor for too long. It was one thing when it was a bunch of students getting together to play a silly little game, but it hasn’t been that in many years. It is a billion dollar organization that pulls ratings on national television.
NIL, as it was supposed to be, was a fine idea. It was always heinous that guys could be told they cannot profit off of their OWN name. However, with no guidelines as to how it was implemented in a competitive environment, it has become a mess.
Contracts, salary caps, etc. are the only way to fix it and achieve some form of parity. Rip the bandaid off, form the Super League, and let’s just get that started instead of this slow burn towards that inevitability.

The revenue used to pay players (when this happens) should come directly from the money the conference gives to the universities from these massive TV deals.
