They have built resources that are equal or better than anywhere.

They pay the staff as well or better than any collegiate staff.

They use Football to leverage out of state enrollments and increase tuition revenues.

They enjoy a marquee name and a quality brand.

The point I am getting at is there are some smart people in our organization who understand the absolute importance of maintaining our Football program at the highest possible level. I think they see it as an absolute imperative.

And that needs to be remembered before we predict gloom.

I'm a bit skeptical about how big money boosters translate into dominate talent. Three years ago Texas A&M bought a number one class. Before AND SINCE, Bama outrecruited them. Why? Why didn't that financial advantage translate into successive great classes?

Another example? Why with an acknowledged great coach, doesn't Oregon, or Texas, land in the Top spot in recruiting.

It's not as simple as adding up the collective wealth of an alumni and then assuming a school will dominate recruiting.

The other thing is, I think college football players have a market value and college rosters have a market value that schools have to pay attention to. Will a school exceed market value on a player occasionally in order to make a splash? Sure. But not consistently. Ohio State may pay Caleb Downs more than we are willing to, but that doesn't mean we are making a mistake.

What we cannot to is allow ourself to be extorted by every player for every penny they may be able to get elsewhere.

We have to win, from an economic standpoint. That that might be a bit more expensive now than it was under Saban. But we have to win, so we will find a way. Winning is too integral a part of University Operations to not do it.

What we are seeing here is less the end for Alabama as it is the cost of Coaching Changes. Stability in Coaching will be seen as more and more imperative and compensation will continue to rise.

Look for all sorts of creative initiatives in the realm of NIL to emerge at Bama. I'm sure it will happen.

As a last note, I still have my seen hard evidence that as a program, Alabama is being outspent from an overall roster standpoint. This information is not publicly available. So how do we know that we are losing players due to financial insufficiece?

Is this a haiku? If so, I think it's too long.

Great effort. But we have been getting the benefit of the doubt because of Saban. Now more will have to be proven by the new staff. Critical juncture.
