I mean they may go after Brian Kelly but he is not an upgrade over Harbaugh and he just signed a new massive contract I thought. His buy out may be more than they want to take on. Likely they hire from within hoping to retain talent.

Agree, and the other question is does DeBoer’s current roster situation deter future coaches from jumping from program to program in the future?

I wouldn't think so in most cases. I think that the idea you can go to a new school and inherit a great roster is gone. Usually you are going to get a job somewhere where there is some turmoil.

The problem is you aren't going to have situations where Ryan Day takes over at Ohio State after the team goes 13-1 and gets to keep the roster in tact. If that happened today OSU would have had a big exodus too.

You can't leave a team in great shape anymore. When a coach retires or goes to the NFL that team is going to take a big step backwards.

JMO but to me coaches who are willing to take the Alabama’s, Ohio State,s type jobs have enough self confidence that they feel they can recruit or coach up the difference.
