This isn't the first time the portal has opened and our players could leave to make more money. They've had this opportunity many times.

They are leaving because they've decided to (yes get paid more probably) but also because they do not want to play for Deboer or his staff.

To act like all these transfers are just for money is incorrect.

Why wouldn't these kids want to play for a coach that just took his team to the national championship game? If not for the money, why wouldn't they give the guy one year to prove himself? Are they not going to have to compete for playing time against the guys that were already slated for their spots on the team they go too. If I was the guy supposedly slated to be the starter and Downs was receiving a large NIL to take my spot, I'm hitting the portal as well.

Caleb Downs isn't hurting or helping his draft stock by leaving BAMA. These players are leaving to make money as a hedge against injury or other shite that can happen. Make money while you can because nothing is guaranteed.

This has very little to do with DeBoer, if anything at all. That's just my opinion.

I've worked in some world class hospitals and I've worked in places like rural Wisconsin where I might go an entire shift without seeing any patients. The money spent the same no matter from whom it came. Nature of the beast.

Isaiah Bond transferred to Texas. Why wouldn't he transfer to Ole Miss? It's closer to home for him and his family, and Kiffin is an offensive genius.

Kendrick Blackshire transferred to Texas. Why wouldn't he transfer to Ole Miss? He's familiar with the DC there.

Roydell Williams transferred to FSU. Why wouldn't he transfer to Ole Miss? It's closer to home for him and his family, and he could play RB in a high-powered offense.

Malik Benson transferred to FSU. Why wouldn't he transfer to Ole Miss?

In fact, unless I'm missing someone, NOT ONE of our transferring players is going to Ole Miss. If Kiffin is the draw you seem to feel he is, wouldn't at least SOME of them -- especially the offensive players -- be going there?

What?

They don’t know if they want to or not.

No, you continue to try to criticize the hiring of DeBoer or DeBoer himself. But the reason players are leaving for more money is not because DeBoer is there but because Saban is not there. Also, some would have left even with Saban if the portal had been opened again during this time frame.

The bottom line is that your argument for hiring Kiffin does not hold water. He is 2-19 vs ranked teams, DeBoer is 12-2 at worse football schools than Kiffin has coached (UT, USC, OM vs Fresno and Wash).

Agreed 100%. These kids just do not want to play for DeBoer. Why would they? Sure he has a good coaching record, but he got Lucky with Penix. Yes he has more talent this year, but the competition week in and week out is seriously more difficult. Kiffin, Trob, Lanning, Schuman, Dabo would have kept the continuity better for sure. DeBoer is a good coach sure, but it's not about the Xs and Os, like always it's the Jimmy's and Joe's.
