If this report is true about the Wommack hire at DC

Then in a couple of years we may be saying that this was a great choice by Deboer to hire him as DC. I don’t know I know nothing about this guy. I’m gonna keep an open mind and see how things go on the field.
The problem is I don’t think hiring Wommack does anything to keep the current players from leaving. So the good news is Bama has a new DC and he may work out to be a fabulous hire. The bad news is what star players the Bama defense has left on roster right now is probably gone.

The latter doesn’t bode well for the former.

You should’ve stopped right there.

Players are short-sighted, so you are probably right.
Ive heard good things about Wommack for years. I liken him to be Bill Clark on steroids.

It is fun to bust Alabama's balls RN, but this is a very good hire.
An HC at USA probably has less to manage and deal with than a DC at Alabama, so in addition to the difficultly in competition he'll have to learn those ropes.
Looking at his coaching career, the biggest program he's ever been associated with was Ole Miss as a GA a decade ago.

He claims he turned down the job but secretly takes it?

What star players have left on defense since Saban retired?
Lost 2 or 3 on offense which is weird because DeBoer is an offensive coach.

So what star players on Alabama's defense are leaving? Other than to the NFL.

Probably because the offensive guys know what their side of the ball will look like, coaching wise.
Defensive players are still waiting to see.

Seeing that they worked on the same staff at Indiana. DeBoer as the OC, Wommack as the DC. Good call if you ask me.

So Alabama hiring the 2019 Indiana university coaching staff that went 8-5 in the big ten and lost to Tennessee in the gator bowl is a good idea? If you say so

Well he may be a great hire I’m not knocking him. All I’m saying is I keep up with a lot of college football and know very little about him so I’m sure guys that are 18-22 years old that actually play the games on Saturday and have school and practice to boot know less about him than I do about him.

Being familiar with each other has its pluses. Can't wait to see what these guys produce.

I already told you.
It produces an 8-5 record with a gator bowl loss.

I thought this was Bama and everyone wanted to coach at Bama. This is insulting.

And just like that, Trey Amos to the portal

I think Deboer was a great hire and probably the best hire Bama could have made. If Kirby wasn’t coaching at the place he played college football at then I’m sure Bama could have hired him away from any other place. Right now Kirby kind of stands alone. He is on a level by himself kind of how Nick has been the past few years.
That’s the problem when it comes to college football right now. We have had 1 or 2 elite coaches the past few years and the a bunch of good and solid coaches. Some may become elite in time but right now they still need to prove themselves Deboer included.
