So, he couldn’t win tough games on the road. Any idea why? I mean, road environments are tougher but it shouldn’t be night and day.

Gus is a big reason why Auburn lost its series lead against Georgia. Haskins and Chiz didnt help either.

Gus was great against the inferior teams and good against Bama every odd year. So he ended up being 8-5 many years. Not much to write home about with him

Gus didn’t develop talent very well, displayed questionable roster management and refused to change his offensive scheme and had gotten pretty paranoid in his latter years.

For some reason his online evaluations were lacking, which made it difficult to bring in SEC caliber linemen. He couldn’t let go of the offense even though he tried on multiple occasions, he tinkered and toyed with it and ran through coordinators.

He was a nerdy but likable guy, he loved Auburn and ran a well disciplined and clean program. He just couldn’t find a way to get over the hump and fans lost faith.
