We have a great young coach who will likely go on a 20 year run
If he has the level of success that is expected from him by the Alabama fanbase, he'll be gone to the NFL in 4 years.

If he doesn't reach that expectation, he'll be fired within 4 years.

Who are you trying to justify your NAIA coach to?

Yeah thats always the rub with these younger coaches. You never know what their NFL aspirations are unless they just come out and say it like Joe Brady did.

Your only honest, informed and educated answer would be "yes". With that, how can you not believe DeBoer could win one or two or more at Alabama which has way more upside than Washington ever would. This. Is. Undebatable.

Crap. Dude. You sound like LSU fans talking about Kelly, now.

We all know that Bama is a destination stop. Coaching there (if allowed by the administration) is the pinnacle of coaching anywhere.

Deboer coached in the national championship game. They just can't bring themselves to face that fact because they are too busy convincing themselves Bama is going to start sucking like auburn.

Alabama has a much better roster than Washington. If he does not win a title at Alabama year 1, then we will all know a lot about him.

All I know is that Washington has not won a NC since 1992. No matter who coaches Washington in 2024, Washington won't be winning a NC nor in 2025. THIS MONTH was their shot and they blew it.

He obviously did once. But if he'd stayed at Washington, do you think he would have had a chance to win one in the next 10 seasons or so?

UDub wouldn't fire a coach for multiple 3 loss seasons.

Bama definitely would. DeBoer will be lucky to get 5 years in T Town.

You only got 85 posts on this Ricky. The other name is available. Might as well create another account.

To show his LSU insecurities…..under a different handle because he’s too chickenshit to post under his real account.

We will get smoked for a few years before Deboer can turn it around for us.

I don't like the hire at all

Absolutely right. But some places obviously win more than others. Bama 18 LSU ... what is it 3 maybe 4 now?

Since 1936 (poll era), Alabama has had 12 HC.

only 3 won an AP National Championship…

In fact, 2 of those 3 Coaches won 12 NC and 87% of games.

So, the remaining 10 coaches since 1936 have 1 national championship and only won 60% of games. Kinda pedestrian when you remove Bryant and Saban….discuss

No need to discuss Bama with you. But, LSU ... how have you guys not been able to take advantage of all those seasons when Saban was not coaching?

Because Bama was never anything without Saban .. amirite?

Have you seen their roster for next year?

Technically, every single coach has a "chance" to win a NC in the next 10 years.

Realistically, no I don't think Washington had a shot at a championship with DeBoer. He roster is depleted since he didn't recruit well at all. The team was loaded with 5th and 6th year seniors due to the previous coach. This was his one shot there.

And they are entering the Big10 where they will be tested much harder during the regular season.
