They get maybe 2 or 3 per year out of their own state. And they are 2 or 3 stars. Anyone that depends that heavily on other states live off their past and conference. Bringing them into the SEC saved them. If Texas left them behind they would be screwed. They get half of their athletes from Texas. If not more.

Oklahoma will bring plenty to the SEC. They are a traditional blue blood. Plus, OKC has some really good breweries if you're in to that, which I am.

The Cotton Bowl is ~ 190 miles from both OU & Texas. Everything north of the Cotton Bowl is closer to OU, including more quality high school programs than any area of the country.
OU has made a living recruiting Texas, not just the DFW Metro, and will do much better now that the $EC bags have been neutralized.
Make no mistake, Oklahoma has $$$. Old oil money, not new (A&M) oil money. Old like the founders of Conoco, Phillips, Getty & Kerr-McGee. They also have the new money; Harold Hamm's net worth is ~ $50 Billion, with a "B". I still got the hat.
When Jed Clampett sold his new found fortune and moved to Beverly Hills, Mr. Brewster, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, wrote the check.
quote:
Pearl: You been slickered, and you know it.
Granny: That's jist what I told him.
Jed: Well, that Mr. Brewster fella seems to set great store in the fact, that he's paying me with some new kinda dollars.
Pearl: There ain't no new kinda dollars.
Jed: Well, they's new ta me. I heard of gold dollars, paper dollars, silver dollars, but never no..... what'd he call 'em, Granny?
Granny: Millions Dollars.
Pearl: MILLIONS Dollars?
