They've also won 6 of the last 10 gymnastics titles.

why do players go there? its in the middle of nowhere, average to below average academics, obese women...and just seems to be a knock off dollar store version of alabammer. why aren't they just going to be another A&M that never wins anything in this league?

Being from MO I'm not gonna shite on the Okies, I know the crap they're gonna have to endure as new members of the most competitive and culturally rich conference in America. Most of the Okies I've known are likable people, the state has some beautiful lakes and public use areas, they'll be alright.......Now the Queer Steers from Austin, they're gonna wear their welcome out in a few years.

Low humidity

Yup, when I moved from Florida to OKC for a year, I hardly broke a sweat the whole time. Didn’t even use the A/C in the car, just drove with the windows down. It’s got lower humidity than any SEC state.

Might be a hot take, but SEC baseball and softball are far more competitive than SEC football.

OU isn't a traditional power in baseball but did play for the national title in 2022. Their current softball dynasty is a nuclear absurdity.

Oklahoma is good at softball, basketball, football and gymnastics as far as what I'm aware of. Don't recall hearing about other aborts with them but I'm sure Sooners will let us know.

It's definitely not like FL, GA, AL or LA but we definitely have humidity.

Oklahoma is such a shite hole that most of their alums move to Texas after graduation. Oklahoma is a depressing state filled with poor white trash and pissed off Native Americans.

OU will be just fine. There are important differences from Nebraska and they don’t put up with losing for long. They have religiously devoted, oil tycoon money for starters. With football being the most important place for that money.

As far as recruiting they’re more an extension of Texas rather than a “cherry picker” of lone star talent.

OU has 14 FB Conference Championships since 2000.
A&M has none.

OU has 7 FB National Championships since 1950.
A&M has none.

OU has 19 10+ Win Seasons in FB since 2000.
A&M has one.

OU is a blue blood.
A&M is not.

Do you have any other stupid questions?

I could be biased, but I really feel like oklahoma doesn't have that punchable face like, say gay&m or mizzery...I think we will fall in line with the core sentiment of the conference and be accepted in due time.

#1. They bring Tradition and represent the blue bloods.

#2. 7 Heisman trophy winners, closest SEC school is Bama.

#3. Softball and gymnastics powerhouse that wins national championships.

#4. The SEC gains the College Softball World Series in their own backyard. Huge win.

#5. OU sells tickets and generates revenue. The top Meteorology program in the US.

#6. OU fans travel well, we're respectful to visiting teams, and OU fans and the state of Oklahoma actually cares about college football.

#7. The SEC gains the OKC market. I advise SEC fans to catch an OKC Thunder game, and they're currently fighting for 1st place in the NBA. You'll have a blast.

#8. OKC (the 405) started Street Outlaws. I could go on.

#9. Oklahoma BBQ is greater than any of that vinegar nonsense out east

I upvoted but ... vinegar based is a Carolina thing for three hundred year, we invented-it. Vinegar, then mustard, then tomato based.

I like Oklahoma people though. Looking forward to our trips out there and yours here to SC. Y'all are gonna have all kinds of opportunities to see the ocean and the gulf now that you're in God's Conference.

I hate OU. But they are instantly the second most accomplished program in the SEC. And they are in no danger of being Nebraska. They are closer to DFW and those recruits than Austin is. Nebraska is not close to any recruits.
