Nah, that’s Army-Navy hands down, then IB, then The Game, then RRS.

Why do players go there? Because they’ve been getting paid for years, just like any other classic blue blood.

What do they add? They are a brand worth watching. I’ll sit and watch most OU vs SEC games next season. Same with Texas. Next season will be the most fun college football fan experience ever.
Players go there because they know OU is a football factory, school exists to supporr the program, not the other way round.

Thing is after Corn left they were the only school in the Big12 set up that way, now they're going to a conference with several other schools that follow the same model. Guess we'll see how that works out.

Oklahoma is just as low rent and ignorant as the rest of the SEC. It’s a good fit.

#6. OU fans travel well, we're respectful to visiting teams, and OU fans and the state of Oklahoma actually cares about college football.
I am looking forward to seeing Oklahoma fans on campus next year at LSU. It's gonna be epic!

why do players go there? its in the middle of nowhere, average to below average academics, obese women...and just seems to be a knock off dollar store version of alabammer. why aren't they just going to be another A&M that never wins anything in this league?
If you’re going to mention OU and A&M in the same sentence, just leave it at 77-0. You would never confuse the trophy rooms of the two schools.

OU has a pedigree and history that most schools dream of, including 13 of 14 in the $EC. Before the $EC started dropping bags like raindrops, a lot of those kids went to OU.

They will recruit very well again once they get they get settled.

Norman is an OKC suburb. It’s in the third largest SEC university city metro area behind Austin and Nashville.

OU is unique in the fact that the area in Norman where the University is located still very much like a college town. Yet you are in a 1.5 million metro area.

A lot of players appreciate this because you aren't in a complete fishbowl in Norman... yet you still get the college town feel.

Oklahoma's brand (in an ability to draw eyeballs) far exceeds the number of TVs that there are in the state of Oklahoma.

I can't believe people can't figure that out. OU vs. Alabama next year will draw huge ratings despite the fact that neither state in highly populated.

OU really is a poor man's Bama. No real attempt to provide a challenging academic environment, football is the central focus of the school to the near exclusion of all other priorities. They buy the few decent students they have from other states by offering generous scholarships/lowered tuition for out-of-state kids with good scores. BTW, of course they focus on meteorology - the weather is frequently trying to kill them.

The dirt burglars had a tradition of winning football that will always attract a lot of talent, especially in the Metroplex. They may not win a ton of football natties in the SEC by they will be a major roadblock to those who have championship aspirations.
