Saban is not doing the new coach any favors. If KD meets expectation the Bama faithful will subscribe it to Saban being present. If KD falters in the least, they will howl for Saban to come out of retirement.

Then the mental anguish that goes along with any coaching, game day, or recruiting decision.
Would Saban have done that? Voice in the back of his head.
