Tell it to Texas and all the other peons, like LSU, that didn’t even sniff the playoffs. By the way, I think this was Deboer’s 2nd year at Washington. What lesser coach in the SEC has been at their program and not even won their conference? Hmmm.

Maybe it's because one is in the SEC and one was in the Pac12.

Okay, so none of the good stuff from the Saban mentorship/advisor role and none of the bad stuff too? That means it is immaterial and I'm fine with that as a bama fan. Thanks!

You’re nuts. Some rival fans still call him Sabear, even on this very board.

Yes, I'm certain that Saban will give up all aspects of the job except for the shittiest one: recruiting in the NIL portal era. That sounds right up his alley.

I need to help you today. It may hurt. And you may even get emotional- even cry. It may be a sudden and impactful emotion and hit you right in the stomach.

None of this is happening.

And you trying to convince any of us or yourself that it is is stressful. I get it.

It's called cognitive dissonance.

She's gone. So are the kids. And she's not coming back, buddy.

I'm sorry. But we are here for y'all. Let it out.

“I”m going to have a presence,” Saban said in the interview. “I’m going to stay in Tuscaloosa. “

I think it's just to help stabalize some things due to transfer portal and shite.

Is the O'l Ball Coach still playing golf on UF's dime? Not a bad gig. Saban has chilled some over the years. I doubt he'll be screaming "Run the Damn Ball" after every incomplete pass.

I believe a lot of what Saban said about staying around the program is just talk until I see otherwise. He's trying to soften the blow for the smooth brain crowd.

Yeah, Saban will be a program ambassador like Spurrier at UF or Richt at UGA. He’s not going to be hiding in the Athletic Department waiting to be rolled out for recruits or used as a prop the man can do some many other interesting things

The 10th ranked SEC offense of last season. Awesome

If this was true his defensive staff would still be in Tuscaloosa and Bond wouldn’t be gone.

100%
You don’t leave the lights out at your 12 million dollar house in Florida to sit in an office in Tuscaloosa if you aren’t coaching.

There’s no way Terri lets that happen.

Exactly. He retired to spend more time with her. He won’t be here much. It won’t matter anyways. It’s obvious DeBoer isn’t going to listen to him. If he was there’s no way TRob wouldn’t be the DC at Bama right now.

Saban is not doing the new coach any favors. If KD meets expectation the Bama faithful will subscribe it to Saban being present. If KD falters in the least, they will howl for Saban to come out of retirement.
