“I’d vote for him”

Either you’re doing it because he was a good coach or because he’s part of a political party which has a wide range of views within it.

In either case, very dumb.

Or he’s voting for him because George Carlin was right and the D and R are two sides of the same coin. Neither has the countries best interest in mind. So, if a brilliant leader that seems to really care about people runs for a position that can only hurt his image he decided he couldn’t care less which party he puts beside his name.

No, you're doing it because he's been the hugely successful CEO of the biggest brand in the state, a remarkably effective administrator, excellent job of evaluating people, and a huge supporter of the university system. He would be excellent at bringing new businesses to the state.

It's why Phil Bredesen was a hugely popular governor in Tennessee and was reelected, yet had no chance to be elected senator. Completely different jobs.

If you can't grasp that, you're the one who's dumb.

I'd probably vote for Saban for governor. There's probably no one in the state with executive skills and who would do better at evaluating people and bringing new business to the state.

I probably would not, however, vote for him for Senate. Completely different job.
