Two big differences in the Brian Kelly hire:
1. BK was 60 and DeBoer is 49.
2. BK already had a top 10 program with talent and consistently lost the big games against other talented teams.

BK had every opportunity to get it done and was consistently good but not great, exactly what he has been at LSU so far. He’s a known commodity on his last few good years left in him.

Notre Dame isn't really a top 10 program anymore, they've been coasting on their reputation for awhile now.

They haven't managed to win a NY6 bowl in 30 years, blame BK for that if you want but no one else during that period has done it either. BK got them to a NY6 bowl in 2022 before handing it over to Freeman and Freeman choked it away in epic fashion.

Being a "blue blood" doesn't really matter anymore.
