Dude Milroe was not some freshman project QB in 2023 like Jalen Hurts (for example) was. That was his third year at QB at the college level and that is the QB that he is. I will be very surprised if DeBoer settles on Milroe after having Jake Haener and Michael Penix the last 4 years.

I hope he makes him a TE or WR.

I hope that Simpson gets a chance to show how much he has grown.

Respectfully that is not true, I've seen some post where it was borderline ridiculous with the ridicule they aimed his way. Was he perfect, no not at all but some of the criticism has been overboard and borderline unfair to the kid.

People definitely put more blame on him than he deserves and conveniently forget about how well he played at times. Bama does not beat LSU without him playing out of his mind. I saw nothing in his play that couldnt be drastically improved on.

Nobody hates Milroe. I've said multiple times that I was pulling for him. But, it's frustrating as hell to watch a team loaded with talent have to dial back the offense and try to mask massive deficiencies at the QB position.

If he improves and wins the job, I'll be behind him. But, 3 years in he struggled with basic QB stuff. Is he really going to improve all that and learn a new offense in 7 months? I doubt it.

Anyone else feel that if Ty Simpson was put in the Michigan game to start the second half it would've went down like Tua going in the game for Hurts to win the National Championship?

I think if we'd gone with him from the USF game Saban would have another title.

With Seth snapping him the ball? No.

Gear up for the very, very real possibility Jalen Milroe will transfer after spring

Of course he might and that possibility went up after the announcement. Still, the young man is all about Bama. I doubt he fears a quarterback competition.

The story of Jalen Hurts is still fresh on everyone's mind in Tuscaloosa - I'm hopeful it has become a great teaching experience.

Everyone talks about Hurts and his spring/fall season at Oklahoma - as if it was an epiphany for him. The truth is, his growth at Alabama [including that third year backing up Tue] allowed growth which made any step to the Big 12 a walk in the park. Hurts may have a higher football IQ & ceiling but it's hard to criticize a young man [who also just graduated, midway through his junior year] and is determined to compete at Bama, at least for now.

Give him a lot of easy read throws.

He had wide open receivers all season long that he completely whiffed on.
