Yes, IF there were other playoff appearances and major bowl wins

If the team is in the 12 team playoff more often than not and consistently winning 10+ games then yes. Winning the NC is hard. Getting 10% of them would still be really good.

If this guy from Washington doesn’t win at least a conference championship by his second season, Bama fans will put a brick through his living room window.

They’ve done it before.

Yes if we were competitive and in the mix for a majority of the other years.

We are averaging..
1 every 15 years since 1963..
1 every 20 years since 2003..

You are asking if 1 every 10 years would be acceptable?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Maybe if it was every 9 years.. maybe then.. but 10 years? No fricking way..

On a serious note..

The goal in my head is that a coach at Texas should make the playoffs at least once every four years. Fail to reach that goal and you are going to get shitcanned.. Hopefully that is the minimum and we can make it 50% or more of the time.

Of the 12 that make it each year, I believe about 4-6 of those teams will be truly capable of winning the NC.

So over an 10 year period, I would expect to make the playoffs at least 2 times.. but hopeful for 5 or more times.. and to maybe make the championship game once or twice during that time period..

1 win every 10 years would be outstanding but you have to get there first and then build off of that momentum and experience.. we shall see this year if last years experience was a fluke or a sign of more things to come..

To not be fired, KD will have to be a top 15 coach in the history of college football. Otherwise, he will not be the one who decides if he leaves that job.

Both the coaches who followed Bear Bryant improved every year they were there and left even after winning ten games due to pressure and the demands.

Curry left a conference champ with a 10-2 record, but his contract extension wouldn't allow him to choose his own staff, so he refused.

If KD has similar results as Stallings (1 national title, 1 SEC title in 7 years), he'll be fired or leave due to the pressure of expectations.

So you mean like LSU and almost every other school that’s won a championship since 2000?

I guess technically LSU is in 2nd place with 1.5 per decade
