They came to their P5 schools about the same time as Sark, but both were on the shopping list for sure. Sark at least had head coaching experience at two different P5 (now 4) schools as well as coming straight off a masterclass performance as Saban's OC.

Nobody on that list would have made the list if Saban retired in 2022.

Rees on that list reminds me of a jingle... "which one of these is not like the other"

Tommy Rees (Alabama OC)

Feels like this is the struck out option. If Lanning, DeBoer and Norvell say no then they promote in house with Rees, retain Saban's staff and with Saban hovering around the program he basically acts as head coach emeritus. He can dictate direction of the program through a bitch yes-man but doesn't have to make the commitment of game day coaching.

No Napier or McElwain?

I remember the Bammers claimed they wanted McElwain to replace CNS when the time came.

Damn what kind of messed up relationship do you have with your Mama? Mine would keep calling until I answered.

The NCAA sanctions essentially excludes Norvell from the Alabama job.

Not because his program violated the rules...

Because they wouldn't hire someone that would get caught.

What about Mark Locksley? He’d be an idle candidate for the job

Seems bama wants to quickly get that first hire out of the way if (REESE) as sacrificial lamb as he will be fired, get another hire without the big shadow hovering come in and slow the inevitable decline.
