Take his inside info with a grain of salt…

Dan Lanning- Bama’s first pick, but unlikely to happen due to the high financial cost to get him. Would take a booster stepping up in a mighty big way but Bama doesn’t have that many boosters with that kind of money.

Sarkisian- would be a top pick but he said unrealistic to expect mutual interest

Kiffin- said Kiffin won’t even be vetted or considered. He apparently burned some bridges from his time in Tuscaloosa. Not a candidate per him

Dameaco Ryans- said no way a successful NFL coach would leave for a CFB job. Also said Ryans was pre-Saban and there were some bad feelings among those players in regard to how Joe Kines was treated. Said there’s a bit of bad blood.

Mike Norvell- seems like this is the most likely top tier candidate

Aside from Norvell, he mentioned DeBoer as another likely consideration.

Rayns won't come because he has a better job. Some hurt feeling in the 90s won't be the reason, though.

Sarkisian

At a program with a great history and more resources than Bama, and he already has it moving in a positive direction, will be playing in the SEC, and he doesn't have to follow Saban. Makes no sense.

Quite frankly Lanning is in a really good spot with Oregon, and can make his own history with Phil Knights deep pockets, and doesn't have to follow Saban. Not SEC but will play in the other premiere conference.

Thing is Lanning does have the personality to take on following Saban and may have a personal desire to coach there if they can get the money right?

That could melt away in a New York minute if their choices diminish.

Most won’t agree but Norvell would be a great hire

Very impressed how he bolt the fsu program and he’s a great offensive mind

Norvell or Lanning. Norvell would be the better choice IMO as he plays defense and has recruiting ties in FL

Bama will likely not like this hire but it's not this hire that is the future of Tide football

It will be the next hire
At that point you will get someone like Lanning

No one wants the pressure of replacing Saban especially when you are already established at a pretty good place like Oregon or Texas who are gonna play the NIL game better than anyone

It's not Lanning. And that's a good thing for the rest of us as far as I'm concerned. I don't think it had to do with money, or Bama's unwillingness to pay either.

Sounds like BS to me. We heard the same stuff for Blake Baker and Bo Davis for LSU

The only one that I could see that could come in and literally take over right where NS left off is Kirby Smart. I’m not saying he’d leave UGA but I wouldn’t be surprised if Bama reaches out to him
