Lanning's interviewing probably as we speak.
If offered, he will accept.
Three big positives.
He was an outstanding defensive coach for UGA. He's a relentless recruiter.
He's also good at motivating, relating to the players.
Only thing that concerns me is he only having two years of head coaching experience.
Whomever it is, next year will probably be our most difficult schedule ever.

I have a hard time believing there's an interview involved here. Perhaps contract discussions or trying to agree to terms.

Lanning is appealing because of his youth/energy and he is in the mold of Saban/Kirby seeming to have learned from both of them and trying to implement that style on his own path. He's obviously much greener, though, and that's where the risk comes in.

That's 2 years more than Kirby had at Georgia. And he's only 3 years younger than Kirby when he took the Georgia job. And Kirby was in a very unique position to hold out for his dream job or destination job.

Kirby had zero HC experience before UGA and he’s doing alright
