They were forced into court and threatened with pen time if they didn't back down. Happens a lot, unfortunately. This government has diligently tracked down every single person that set foot on the Capitol on Jan 6th, guilty or innocent, and run them through the ringer to teach them a lesson:
Do not EVER challenge the US Government swamp or you will be sent to federal prison.
