He had to put up bigger numbers to win at Oklahoma.

And he was ready to do it after playing at Bama and getting the work ethic instilled in him.

Sure, it's easy to nit-pick at Saban at this moment and sure, give Riley some credit for developing him just a bit more but you do have to give Bama some credit for getting Hurts ready for his time at Oklahoma.

Go back and watch the first play of the Rose Bowl. It epitomizes the reason we lost.

Milroe looking down field as the pocket collapses... protection terrible. But TE, has made his cut and is running free in the middle.
Milroe didn't even look at the hot route.

Same thing on the second one... etc.

Throw the ball Jalen. Easy pass and it's 2nd and 4.

Michigan wasn't even trying to cover our hot routs BECAUSE WE DONT USE THEM.

If he hits that te a couple of times, Michigan adjusts, those sacks don't happen and we have downfield opportunities and a more effective run game.

Do you not think that a competent QB coach could have had Milroe utilizing his hot routes in almost a year of coaching?

Can't this be simulated in practice?

That's my whole point. There is just basic shiit that isn't getting effectively taught.
