The best QB in college plays Monday night. After Penix throws TD's, he doesn't do gay arse dances in the end zone either like JD does.

With those knees, he would be lucky to waltz.

Not shocking. He is the best player and any nfl team will get a superstar

Daniels' arm talent and accuracy is a mixed bag. On one hand, he's a phenomenal deep thrower in rhythm. He regularly drops it in the bucket without needing his receivers to break stride. However, Daniels' arm strength and accuracy are less dangerous to other parts of the field. He doesn't always have the velocity to fit tight windows, and his accuracy in the 1-20 yard range comes and goes. Daniels' accuracy especially falls off when he's forced to throw out of rhythm or late in the down.

Overall, Daniels has an exciting floor as a prospect. He is a veteran-like presence in the pocket, and he's far and away the best athlete in the class at the position. Daniels' average arm talent and inconsistent accuracy may limit his ceiling, but it's hard to imagine him totally flaming out. Daniels would be best in an offense that leans into his rushing ability and vertical passing, similar to Kyler Murray or Jalen Hurts.

GRADE: 7.4 (High-Level Backup/Potential Starter — 3rd Round)

PRO COMPARISON: Tyrod Taylor

He’s too soft to be the number one player taken. Really good player and will probably have a big impact on whoever drafts him for about 2-3 seasons. Unfortunately he has a similar skill set to RG3 and is built just about like him. That equals short career

In general I agree with you. I would give Penix the edge in college over Daniels but it is close. Penix throws everything well.

For the NFL... Daniels is easily the choice over Penix. Not that close in my opinion.

I’d say it’s the exact opposite. Daniels is the model college QB. He’s not rushing for 1300 yards in the NFL.

Penix could be good in the NFL. But those knees. Yikes.

Bama fans were still recovering from Jayden’s Heisman win when they lost to Michigan (lol). Him going #1 overall would make it hard for them to ever recover.

this will prob get downvoted by my LSU brethren but this has been my issue w Daniels all along and I think is 100% true.

“His accuracy in the 1-20 yard range comes and goes”

Let me be the first to say that I LOVE the guy. LOVE him. But I don’t know that he would be my franchise pick. That’s to say…in comparison to Joe B or a Justin Herbert. Joe B’s accuracy 1-20 was otherworldly. and when nothing else is clicking, if you have that go-to 8 yard curl that is on target one hundred percent of the time…that’s your franchise QB.

that’s also not to say that he won’t keep getting better. and I genuinely hope he does. I couldn’t think more highly of him but I think the jury is still out whether he’ll still be balling out in 7 years. but let the man get paid. he earned it.

Forgive me JD if you are reading this. You are welcome at my table for the rest of your days. You are a true Tiger for life.

I’m 95% sure this is a joke.
But in case it’s not, I will ban myself from TD (other than food, books and travel) for life if this ever happens.

This is why he'll be an NFL bust / coach killer.

Despite the yuge media man love for dual threat quarterbacks if they can't consistently make these kind of throws from the pocket NFL defensive cooordinators will expose them. And thinking you can straighten them out is usually a fool's game.
