Same thing that happened to LSU with Denbrock happened to Mizzou with Baker.

Sometimes a coach just wants to be close to home.

I personally thought Baker would hold some animosity due to Kelly not retaining him in 2021 but apparently he didn't.

But it could be. I'm not talking about matching. I'm talking about betting the house. Millions are a pittance when talking about elevating a program.

Ill advised? Maybe. But do we just hang around and wait until someone snatches Kirby, then Drink if he continues to succeed? I realize Saban has assistants hired away like clockwork, but he has other high-talent assistants salivating to join his staff. Pretty sure we're not there yet.

At the end of the day, I have no idea if Baker is that good or if Moore is that good, or if Drink is that good, but at some point, you need to take a gamble. Sometimes maybe an outrageous gamble.
