This whole thread is example 4,568,677 of why there can be zero actual discussion on this board. I guarantee you that most people on here were not familiar with the minutia of all the Ed Orgeron era firings and Brian Kelly era hirings. And when someone asks about it you immediately get in your feelings and rally around yourselves. You have a massive circle jerk and then high five.

Was LSU always like this? I don’t remember LSU fans being like this in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The fact so many of you started shite talking threads to Mizzou fans, who are generally the most well mannered fans on here, immediately after hiring an assistant coach just two years after firing him speaks volumes of what LSU has become. Not only hiring him but making him the highest paid assistant in the history of the sport despite only having been a coordinator for two years is weird. Because we have never, ever seen a coach have a couple of good years, get a huge contract, and then crash and burn. Matt House was a home run, can’t fail hire just two years ago.

But you can’t just be happy about hiring what is hopefully an upgraded defense, you have to act like overzealous assholes about it. No, you have to try to rub Mizzou’s face in it. Mizzou has apparently become your equal now. And it is not just one or two posters, it seems to be the whole fanbase this time. Even some of the “good” posters like lastfan and wolfhound have piled on. Not only is this firing/rehiring weird, the response to it is as well. But I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise. Management doesn’t just allow it, they actively participate in it. Hell, those alters are probably the worst ones. And a mob has a lot of momentum once they all get pointed in the same direction. This board is masterful at directing traffic.

The irony is that next year LSU’s defense will be much improved. And the offense will be hot garbage. And Brian Kelly will once again have a 9-3 regular season. Just good enough to keep his seat from getting too hot. But not good enough to keep you all from being so frustrated about being so close. But like always, there will be next year.
