If you’re the coach being sought as DC, which fan base do you want to coach for? Mizzou’s fans are lukewarm at best, and are usually pretty quick to admit that. I’ve driven past Faurot an hour before kickoff for an SEC opener and cycled through the first light at Stadium and Providence. There’s no comparison. None. Mizzou sold tickets this season that included beverages and snacks in order to achieve sellouts. It’s great they did that, makes it affordable for families, but it’s still gimmicky and top-tier programs don’t need to do that for conference games. Look at the success our previous coordinators and assistants have had. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a done deal. Congrats to Mizzou on a great season; they’ve been a lot of fun to watch.

That’s what did it. You caught us. Paying $50 for a ticket that includes free glizzies and soda in the 300 level of the stadium didn’t bring out an extra 10,000 fans.

Having a rabid, bipolar fanbase (even by SEC standards) isn’t always seen as a positive. I know that’s hard to believe since you don’t know anything else.

Can't argue with most of that. LSU is a bigger brand and he's from that area.
But...maybe he's happy where he is and wants to invest another year or two of his career at Mizzou. It appears he's well payed.

It's Drink's job to have successful coordinators. It's also his job to have a plan for "what's next".

We shall see.
