You do realize that Georgia has far more Walmarts than does Alabama right?

You do realize that there are a lot more people in Georgia? Per capita Alabama has much greater access to Walmart.

According to your link there are 215 Walmart stores in Georgia and 144 in Alabama. Wikipedia has Georgia at 11,029,227 and Alabama at 5,108,465. That works out to 1 Walmart for every 51,298 residents in Georgia and 1 Walmart for every 35,475 residents in Alabama.

I’ll leave it to you to work out the stats on Dollar General, Dollar Tree, et al.

A person isn't what makes a walmart more or less available, but Walmarts per square mile would be a better reflection of how great access is. Georgia is for every 270 square miles, Alabama 1 for every 352 sq miles. The average Georgian has better access to more crowded Walmarts.
