UGA didn't deserve a spot in the playoff.

Was UGA one of the top 4 teams? Absolutely.

Explicitly, the playoffs are supposed to be the best 4 teams.

All I am saying is this: watching Washington vs Texas, it was clear to me that neither of those teams was one of the 4 best teams in the nation. The talent level is just so different. Defensively, Washington just isn't very good, even though they probably have the best QB in the nation. I think they are going to be soundly beaten by Michigan - a team with a suspect offense.

Based on results on the field or based on 247 recruiting rankings?

Yes, but that actually means the 4 teams that have shown themselves to be best based on their performance. Otherwise UGA and Bama's talent would always make them one of the top 4 teams regardless of their record. Performance on the field matters.

UGA laid an egg in the game that mattered the most for "proving" they were one of the 4 best.

While that doesn't change that they likely are one of the 4 best, they didn't prove it.

I think UGA would be favored over both Michigan and Washington. Heck, they'd probably be favored over Bama in a rematch too (we were in 2021 after losing the SECCG by much more than 3 points). On paper UGA has the best team this season.

But the results on the field matter. UGA didn't deserve a spot.
