Did I miss a saga?

New: Spoke with Clemson athletic director Graham Neff about last month's Dabo Swinney-Alabama saga. In his first public comments on the topic, Neff says Swinney staying put is "just a great testament to Clemson" and the mutual commitment at the school

Only one that Clemson invented to make things look better. They even had some social media posts about him choosing to stay. Yet his name was never publicly mentioned in the search. Though I’m sure he was contacted out of due diligence in the search.

Yeah Swinney staying put is more a “testament to Bama didn’t want him” type of thing!

Every time I see or hear Lane Kiffin I will think of PJ Funnybunny! That article by Chris Low was really good and that bit there was absolutely hilarious lol.
What’s wild is he acknowledged and owned all of it.
I’m inclined to believe that all the rumors about Lane while he was at Tennessee, USC and Bama were true and that he has in fact matured (a bit).
If the rumors were true however it’s very easy to understand why he wasn’t a front runner for the Bama job when a Saban left, it would be like returning to the scene of a crime as a wanted fugitive.

It is wild for sure but I also believe he has matured quite a bit from where he was then however he still has little ways to go in that department lol.

Faced with the near impossible task of replacing Nick Saban, one of the game's brightest minds is ready to mark his own legacy.

What do we think about Inge? Is he a good hire? Really hope we can keep the ILB play trending upwards.

Jay Nunez to Bama as ST coordinator
He's a "special teams analyst" for Oklahoma. Sounds like he's off-the-field...maybe a guy to help the specialists outside of practice?

My only guess if he's on the field would be that Grubb is leaving for the Seahawks but then we have way too much defense and not enough QB coach on staff.

According to the OU posters on the Rant, they're not too torn up about losing him. OU's Special Teams play wasn't great this past year, but they admit he didn't have very good kickers to work with.
Sounds like we'll utilize him the same way OU did. Since he's an Analyst, he'll coordinate Special Teams through the week, but an on field coach will handle things on game day.
Per the OU posters. the Sooners finished sixth in net kickoff return yardage in the Big 12 in 2023; 10th in punt return yardage; 11th in field goal percentage in 2023; and eighth in net punting.

Ah I see, OU basically went without an on-field STC on gameday.

Inge was special teams coordinator for a few years at Indiana: LINK, which overlapped with DeBoer's time there as OC.
If Inge and Wommack share LB-coaching duties, Inge could take on the role of ST coordinator. (I don't know how good Indiana's special teams were under his watch, though)

With Wommack and Inge as our LB coaches we should be fine.
Most of all, I'm excited about the D because of Wommack being our DC. Here's a more in-depth analysis of his defense: LINK
