I know a lot of people hate Boise States field, but you might as well go blue if you’re gonna have turf.
It makes too much sense, as Kentucky’s colors are blue, and you could call it Kentucky Blue Grass.

I've got a 1 by 1 foot piece of the Shields-Watkins turf in my house.

It was on clearance so they went with blue. It's hideous but it was cheap.

Isn’t Faurot Field like too low to properly grow grass? It doesn’t get the right sunlight?

It doesn’t matter. It’s not about playing surface. It’s just another topic for people to cling to.

I think Green Bay plays on grass

MU field site sits on a limestone bluff. Try pushing that around with an end-loader.

Who gives a holy crap?
You have found the bottom of the barrel of things to bitch about. Congrats.

An end-loader? End-loaders move dirt, and the ridiculous Mizzou takes here have evolved into higher and higher levels of stupidity. Lotta folks flunking 6th grade geometry in this thread, and about 15% of them really shouldn't be allowed to vote, and they are all Mizzou fans.
To argue, as in this thread, that bedrock cannot be excavated is a wild aberration of reality. And for the little sweet summer child who just came in, end-loaders would be needed later on in the process.
No ability for Faurot Field to drain? Even turf has to drain! And for anyone to say the south end of Faurot would not have been conducive to draining is another Mizzou nitwit. Look at Google street and head north or northeast on either Hwy 163 or Champions Blvd and tell a 3rd grader you can't get drainage coming off the property.
This goes to show, Mizzou is:
1. Lazy
2. Not real southerners
3. Mathematically inept
You can't be in the SEC and not understand excavation, dirtwork and natural turf management. You Must Leave Mizzou!
Whoever here obviously misheard the KC Chiefs guy, who grows Bermuda at Arrowhead. No one in turf management would be able to say something so stupid. 15 years ago or longer, Mizzou had ample opportunity to fix all this before instead smoking crack and just laying artificial turf and claiming "we can't drain from here" and then polluting the place with concrete.
It's obvious, the KC Cheifs guy was either commenting on Mizzou not being willing to develop the land, or being too stupid to develop the land. So yeah, if you don't develop the land, you Can't Do ABC and XYZ. duh!
This explains something to me: Where Northwest Arkansas, NE Oklahoma, SE Kansas and SW Missouri sort of meet in a semi-quad-state subregion, it now makes sense to be how why the only legit construction companies in the region are from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. That's all.
Lord have mercy.

it's actually a natural/artificial hybrid. I have no idea how SIS Grass works.

We learned our lessons only after shredding one our players knees heading for a touchdown

You’ve changed my mind. We can southern engineer this thing. Bring some dynamite.

Yes, it’s been tried. Doesn’t work there.

30 years ago or so, Erk Russell era Georgia Southern (Statesboro) was "the" leading talk of the town in the south on natural Bermuda/high suction drainage to pull it dry even after heavy rains. I don't remember the specifics, I just remember the admiration of the old guys talking about what Georgia Southern had accomplished. These were old school real grass guys, and they were football guys.
Yes, Ga Sou went artificial about 8 years ago, but that's because I think they couldn't maintain the cost of the excellent science they'd be doing.
Division II, high school, 1-AA, yeah, I understand the monetary advantage of going Field Turf. I don't blame them at all.
SEC schools? Naw. No excuse.
