Should scholarships be reserved for those without nil deals?

My son is at Alabama and we're paying his way out of pocket...I just my arse to give him an opportunity I didn't have.
Meanwhile, kids making millions are getting their school paid for. Seems like a waste of money when they could clearly pay for it themselves.
What if they had to choose a scholarship or nil deal UNLESS the nil deal is less than the price of tuition... Or something similar?

Your son play football?

Then they would just get student loans which will get cancelled by you know who.

I bet your son is there to acquire an education so its apples and oranges

Either way you’re spending the money.
The only solution to this is regulation with a minimum and maximum payout to maintain status in the highest tier.
Well, there’s another solution, but no one except G6 schools will like it.

so your son isn't smart or athletic enough to get a scholarship so another student should have to give up theirs for him?

I think this is a great idea. If a kid has a 6-figures NIL deal they can afford to pay for college.

I like it. The Texas schools give very little in the way of scholarships to academically gifted kids who are not of an "oppressed class" and who have parents of middle class means or more. It sickens me to see how much donors will give to NIL while middle class families break their finances for their kids to have a better future.

I love how you guys are now all for socialistic ideas and hate capitalism.
Sorry your son isn't good enough to earn a scholarship but those aren't "practice trophies" given to the less physically fortunate
