2011 was an unbelievable year for the SEC. LSU: 13-1 Bama: 12-1 Arkansas: 11-2 South Carolina: 11-2 SC was loaded that year. Jadeveon Clowney, Melvin Ingram, Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jeffrey, Marcus Lattimore just to name a few.

The weird thing about that year is Arkansas was as loaded in skilled positions offensively, qb, rb and receivers as they have ever been and the 2 teams they lost to played one another for the natty.

Talk about bad timing.

2005 LSU

If Katrina hadn't happened who knows what that team could have done.

It's a coin toss between 2011 LSU and 2004 Auburn in my humble opinion for the 1st/2nd best team and a toss up between 2009 Florida and 2023 Georgia for the 3rd/4th best team.

I lean to giving a slight edge to 2011 LSU. That team had arguably the greatest regular season run in SEC history beating the #1 team on the road as well as 3 Power 5 conference teams who all won their conference's championship that season.

The 2006 team was better.

Malzahn wasn't the OC that year and was the OC at Tulsa.

David Lee was the OC but it didn't matter as Arkansas didn't have a QB that could have won the games that mattered.

Quinnen Williams
Easily the best player on that list. I know I'll get some clap back, but Williams is dominant in the NFL.

2012 Georgia should be a part of the conversation. They were literally a finger nail away from beating us and then beating Notre Dame in the title game

2018 Bama seemed like such a solid team with no weakness. I'm still shocked by how badly they lost to Clemson.

Our 09 team struggled way too much against a pretty unimpressive schedule.

They are one of only two teams in college football history to defeat all of their regular season opponents by 20+ points. The other was 1888 Yale.

However, by the end of November you could tell something was going on with that team that was very internal in nature. Josh Pate alludes to it every now and then but never goes into detail. However, it's clear that there was a divided locker room by season's end.

I wouldn't have been shocked had they lost a close game to Clemson. It was how they lost.

This will get laughed at but LSU 2023 won the aheisman and was really close to being in the playoff. The only playoff team with a chance would be Texas.

Would have gotten shitwhipped by USC***

Auburn/USC had a common opponent in 2004. This is all fantasy. That USC wasn't as dominant as revisionists think they were.

No one wanted to see USC pistol whip Auburn for a 3rd year in a row.

2023 Georgia gets way too much credit. They honestly didn’t beat any team worth a crap.

2018 Bama is the best team to never win a Natty. That team was absolutely stacked. 2016 Bama close but Hurts as a freshmen was a liability.

2009 Florida is up there as well. 2011 LSU would be on the list but that offense was too putrid.
