I like it, but I do see the point about whichever two teams being in the CCG are already qualified foe the playoff. I suppose the CCG would help with seeding.

Using this year as an example...
prior to the SEC championship the SEC would have had four teams qualified... If Bama had lost to Georgia there would have only been three SEC teams qualified.. same thing would have happened last year with LSU...
Bama would have been in and LSU, as Western division champions, would have been left out... Even though they beat Bama head to head

LSU was ranked 11th
Entering the SEC championship game ....after the game they fell to 16th
