Like I said in another thread, I could do with this series going away altogether. It's always meant a great deal more to auburn than UA.

They want to kill everything when they lose to Auburn. Other than that, they don't really care.

The SEC has hurt itself on hetting teams into the playoffs.
Not as long as there's still a human committee involved, this year is proof of that. Best 12 teams may not necessarily be #1 through #12 in the final rankings. The automatic G5 thing could be an issue though, I'll give you that.

Oh, don't get me wrong, we should never lose to little brother. I find the thought of it to be reprehensible. It's just that when we do win I'm kind like... meh, we were supposed to.

You guys on the other hand storm the field and dance in the town square while you roll those stupid trees. We're still hearing about the "Camback" and "Kicksix" all these years later." Beating Alabama give your program legitimacy. All beating auburn does for us is add to our win total.

Pictures of the catch last month have been posted on this board as potential Christmas presents.

I'm going to guess you're really young.

Auburn and Alabama played almost every year from 1893 to 1907 and then stopped. Demand for the series to restart grew to the point in 1947 the state legislature passed a resolution telling them to restart it and threatened to cut off funding to the schools if they didn't.

As long as football is still played at Alabama and Auburn, there will be an Iron Bowl.

Auburn finally can't practice for Bama for 3 weeks prior to the game.

We're the same generation then, I'm 56. I made that assumption because I figured anyone "of significant years" like we are would know the history and that if football ever goes away in this state, the last game ever played will probably be an Iron Bowl.

so fricking true. They love to say that’s the only game that we care about, but when they lose it, somebody inevitably gets, stabbed, or murdered, or trees gets poisoned
