FSU earned the right to be in the CFP. They beat everyone on their schedule, including the Heisman winner. Alabama did not. Texas did not. There is no logical reason for an undefeated team to be left out, except that is what the media wanted.

Might I remind you why ND was chosen over A&M years ago? "Well, we've already seen A&M play Alabama, and ND had the better overall year" ... I seem to remember Texas and Alabama playing earlier this year

Hypocritical to say the very least. Completely corrupt would be a better way to phrase it

So had Bama not played Texas but played North Texas, would you say the same of undefeated Bama? You're gonna say FSU played LSU but so did Bama. So as long as you are undefeated, schedule strength should not be looked at? this is what you are saying?
If you aren't saying that check out the schedule strength. You can't have it both ways.

That's not how it works. Not all schedules are created equal. It's never been that simple. Liberty won all their games. Should they get in?

The ACC being a "P5" conf is irrelevant. Those are just words. the ACC as a football league is terrible.

So Liberty was excluded because they didn’t beat the Heismann winner?

6 replies, and all of them Bammers.

If FSU came from some mid-major conference, I see the issue. They come from the one conference that has won 3 of the last 10 natties, and they did it with 3 different QB’s and a solid defense.

If the argument is just “We know Bama is better and probably the best”, then why is Georgia not in? Do we honestly believe that all the other teams in the CFP and FSU somehow fit in between Bama and Georgia’s 3 point differential?

I’m no FSU fan. Never really liked Bowden until I saw “We Are Marshall”, and the way they tricked us into taking Jimbo is even worse than the evil done by Bama (Franchione) and LSU (Chavis). Taking advantage of the desperate and less fortunate is just mean.

That being said, we always say teams have to take care of business. Bama didn’t. Noles did.

Do I believe Bama would beat FSU? Yup.

I thought the same thing about Texas.

Except for the fact that it's never been a requirement. People have always been the selectors of who should play for championships and done so by using their judgement as to who is the best. We have integrated algorithms into the factor to offset human bias. But it's never been a "oh... You win all your games you are guaranteed a spot". Having that guarantee would ...reward teams like FSU that opted for the easier path( and it's not a subjective argument because they said it out loud)
Vs a ...ark or socar that opted to grind every week. There is no more better proof of this than FSUs own 93 title. Using today's "deserving/won all their games" mantra...FSU wouldn't have that title. But they were deemed to be better than WVU because of their performance in their more difficult season (aka SoS) ..it was that way 30 yrs ago...it's the same way now. The only real difference is a committee vs all ap / poll voters and having 4 teams possibly play vs two

Not over Bammie, they didn't.

shite, Ole Miss beat the frickin' Heisman winner. What kinda dumb shite is that?

Alabama won their conference, playing the #6 SOS. With FSU's buried somewhere in the frickin' 50's. There's your "logic" right there.

They had a chance today to prove to the world that they belonged. They talked big but when it came down to it their players opted out rather than face Georgia. Called it a business decision when we all knew they were chickenshit. This wasn’t the Gasparilla Bowl. It was the Orange Bowl.

They got beaten by sixty freaking points. 60. Worst bowl beating ever. Ever.

Why not argue for James Madison? But to continue to push the FSU agenda is comical.

Being undefeated doesn't mean shite when you play shite. FSU 55th SOS, Bama 5th. ACC is garbage.

So did Liberty based on this logic.

And after the beating they got today, it shows what they deserved.

FIFY

They had no shot without him, some of us prefer the playoff games to be competitive.

Hell, they barely beat our sorry arse team and thats with our FR QB making his first start.
