There are practical reasons to pull for teams in your conference. If the perception is that the SEC is superior to other conferences then SEC teams will benefit. That is exactly what happened this year. And it makes logical sense since the SEC has won 6 of the 9 national championships in the Playoff Era. That logic is likely to be even more pertinent in the coming 12 Team Playoff. But as I would expect hatred is a more powerful motivator for some than rational self interest. Particularly when that self interest may take years to manifest. Unfortunately for Auburn the period of SEC dominance was at its beginning in 2004.

Nice first post.

I'm assuming you're either going to be:

1) a legitimate poster;
2) cloyingly good until you reverse course and reveal your true self;
3) an ai bot

Either way, welcome.

Your first post is that bullshite

No one loss SEC team besides Alabama or maybe UGA would jump undefeated Florida St for the last playoff spot in the situation that happened.

The only thing more paradoxical than rooting for your rivals to win for pretty much no reason is peddling for your arrivals to actually root for you for no reason.

Screw that noise. Big 10 and PAC 12 suck and they’re doing just fine. Jordan Travis being injured benefitted Bama more than being a part of the SEC this year. Any SEC fan who cheers for a team they hate because they feel a need to prove themselves against other conferences are the same dudes who brag about how ripped the guy is who took their wife out and boned her while they stayed home baking cookies.

perception doesn't mean shite compared to wins and losses, typically.

what happened this year is FSU's star QB got injured. Nothing more.

I assure you nobody on the committee said "hey bama won the national title in 2015, we shoudl give them the benefit of the doubt this year"
