Quarterbacks are judged on wins/losses just like starting pitchers in baseball
You're making my point for me. Very few people don't know that win/loss for starting pitcher is one of the WORST ways to evaluate a pitcher. Just like it's idiotic to judge Daniels/Nix/Penix by the way their TEAM performed. None of them played all 22 positions on every snap. It's a completely stupid way to evaluate them.

Like it or not, that’s the way it is
So because a bunch of stupid people say something stupid, don't state facts to set the record straight. That's what you're advocating?

quote:

Daniels simply couldn’t overcome the terrible defensive play and bad coaching from his team
Neither did Penix/Nix make their defenses play better. What a dumb statement.

Just another case of a great player on a bad team
"bad" team

Not sure why it matters. Jd will win the heisman. A lot of times they don’t give every single award to the eventual heisman winner. It’s kinda rare to have a clean sweep of the awards qualified for by anyone

And none of those QBs caught the passes they threw, either. So, do we throw out passing yards and passing TD's as a metric?

Like it or not that is how they are judged. Is it fair? Maybe. maybe not. But if a pitcher has a 4.50ERA and wins 300+ games he will be in the Hall of Fame. If you don't like that, then you should take it up with the powers that be. I doubt it will do any good though, because the fact is when things are not going well, and teammates are not playing well, the star finds a way to take his team to a win. LSU beat one good team this year. Missouri. They lost to the other three good teams they played against.
