With portal and opt outs, non playoff bowls are basically an early spring game between programs. They mean nothing.
Bowl games used to be considered exhibition games and a reward for a good season until about 50 years ago. Nonplayoff games will be going forward, especially in light of portal, opt outs, and expanded playoffs.

Is that why Bama played everyone last year for the entire NY6 bowl including the #1 overall pick and a hand full of day one and day two guys? You think Georgia players are going to back away from FSU this year? Not a chance.
