But why they hate it so much is the Tigers won the natty in 2019 and thought they were on the verge of a dynasty, al la Alabama. And then they proceeded to go 5-5 and 6-7 the next two seasons Not only did they fail to have a dynasty, they failed to have a winning season. That is why they hate 2020 so much. It reminds them of that, and their program’s history.
If they had been good in 2020, then yes, 2020 would count. But since they weren’t 2020 doesn’t count.
