Kirby and Nick getting done. Wonder if any two coaches nationally...much less two coaches in the same conference have had concurrent 8 season runs as impressive or as dead even as Saban and Smart have going right now.

Here are Georgia and Alabama's records since the start of the 2017 season:

Georgia: 85-10 record with 2 SEC titles and 2 national titles

Alabama: 86-9 record with 3 SEC titles and 2 national titles

Both coaches will end up with identical 86-10 records and an identical number of SEC and national titles if Georgia wins Saturday. Georgia will obviously be favored to break the national title tie in the playoff.

86-9 record with 3 SEC titles and 1* national titles
and one fake national title in a fake 2020 season playing games in front of empty stadiums and beating a 7 win team in the national title game.

I’d say something else amazing is the streak of QBs Alabama has had(not even touching RBs and WRs) in a row…Jalen Hurts, Tua, Mac Jones(Natty winner and NFL starter), Bryce Young(Heisman winner, #1 pick), now Milroe. That’s been a nice trip!

Well…I’m not sure that’s gonna be the way things pan out for the Kirbster…I think Saban might be tacking on an additional W as well as a slightly larger lead in the SEC title race this year…I ummm…I kinda think UGA is done for the year…I’ve watched them play all season and I’m sorry but they’re just not very good IMO. If Bama loses to Georgia….I dunno…I honestly think that Bama is gonna shock a lot of people. Though…I don’t think many Bama fans will be shocked.

Closest run that comes to mind with two coaches in the same conference is probably Bob Stoops and Mack Brown in the 2000s.

110-19
6 Big 12 Championships
7 BCS Bowl Appearances
1-3 in National Championship games

110-24
2 Big 12 Championships
4 BCS Bowl appearances
1-1 in National Championship Games

And it still isn't close to the level Smart and Saban have been at.
