I am a bit baffled that the writer of that piece just has a major case of the red booty over Petrino dropping UNLV for A&M. Sort of implying that Odom had trusted him to help rebuild the team and that Petrino abandoned him.

It was the OC job at A&M! They were going to back a dumptruck loaded with money up to his doorstep and he was supposed to say no? Any OC, unless they are a true blue devotee of their school, is going to move from UNLV to Texas A&M in a heartbeat.

A more less direct quote... "he had an OK season with QBs he didn't expect to have to play." A&M really fell off down the homestretch, when folks think Jimbo took over play calling duties, but they still managed to put out the 25th ranked scoring offense in the country.

If Arkansas had that sort of scoring offense this year we'd probably be cussing out Missouri for eliminating any chance of us sneaking into a NY6 game this season.

There are reasons to like and dislike Bobby Petrino and what he could potentially bring to the program. But this was an out and out hit piece. And not a particularly well done one.

He brought up that Petrino was 18-15 at Missouri State.

He didn't mention the fact that he brought them a playoff appearance for the for the first time since 1990.

He didn't mention that Missouri State had a double digit lead in 2022 and he made Pittman look like a complete fool.
