Think about it.

Alabama has - and will continue to have if both teams win out - a better resume than Texas. Pretty straightforward.

Bama beat currently ranked #12 Ole Miss, #14 LSU, and #21 Tennessee.

UT beat #19 K-State (who lost to an unranked Iowa State team, and may drop out of the top 25) and #8 Alabama

In this scenario Bama would add a win vs #1 UGA and UT a win vs #20 Okst.

Bama would have 4 top 25 wins vs UT’s 3 (maybe 2) and have 3 top 15 wins vs 1 for UT.

So Bama has more quality wins.

UT lost to the #13 team. Bama lost to #7.

So Bama has the better loss as well.

Better wins, better loss equals a better resume and should be voted ahead of UT

GeekedUp left out the one most important criterion that should put Texas in over Bama, namely, Texas head to head victory over Bama in Ttown. That is the killer for Bama vis a vis Texas positioning for the playoffs.

I agree with you. H2H should matter, but it shouldn't be the only data point when comparing teams.
