It would be impressive, but this is "recency bias."

What Saban has done at Alabama, Smart is chasing. In today's NCAA its hard to do.

You're disrespecting the past achievements of Bear Bryant, Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, John McKay. Sustained success. Georgia basically just broke through as elite 2 years ago.

Not true. I mean how many championships did those other coaches get? We have been contending for championships for longer than two years. You have to go back to 2017, at least.

Schembechler- 0 Championships
Hayes-3 Championships
McKay- 4 Championships

You have a point with Bryant and Saban, though. But saying Georgia only broke through as elite 2 years ago insinuates that Schembechler never broke through.

We played for a National Championship and barely lost in 2017, then won two in a row in 2021 and 2022 with a chance to win three in a row this year, so we have been elite for at LEAST 6 years.

How many years did Bobby Bowden finish in the top 5? Like 20? Pretty incredible
