They don't call a lot of holds in the trenches.
You can sleeper hold a defender and ride him into the dirt without a call.

They throw quick flags on the perimeter for offensive and defensive holding.
Hand on the shoulder for a wide receiver or tight end. Finger and thumb pinching a jersey with no influence on the play for a DB.

And they call nothing on the final play. You can mug each other with switch blades downfield. They can already taste the cold brews in the locker room.

This is basically the best summation of their general "style" of officiating that has existed for probably the last 7-8 years. At some point it was clearly decided that holding inside the LOS was just not going to be a penalty anymore unless it directly impeded a rusher who had a beat on the QB from getting there. You will never see holding called on an inside run play at the LOS. Ever.

As for how good or bad they are, they aren't very good. But I'm not sure any officials anywhere are any good anymore. The game is too fast and nobody seems to be able to keep up.
