That’s way overly simplistic. No Jew today would say they are waiting for a messiah who is actually God.

Also, John 5:45–47 is instructive:
Do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?

If the God of Christianity is three persons with one nature (the Trinity: Father, Son, and Spirit), and the Jews believe that God is unity only (just the Father), then they believe in a different God than what the Christians proclaim. It's an identity issue.

I believe the God of Abraham is triune, but the Jews do not believe that, so they don't believe in the Biblical God as revealed through the Scriptures, and especially in the person of Jesus Christ.
