This is not a knock on Richt

It absolutely is, and it's 100% okay to point out that there were chinks in his white knight armor. Richt was a good coach, but he had flaws that people allowed to be masked by his penchant of coating himself in the armor of "god".

Some of us were all but crucified for trying to point them out, and became tired of the "good man" shite slung around by Richt apologists when arguing these very points.

Kirby has chinks in his white knight armor as well. However, I myself am currently blind to them, so forgive me if I ever fall back to the "well, he's a good man" arguments whilst defending him.

But, yes, discipline is definitely not a chink in the armor. Look at Bama last year to see just how important discipline is for a talented team. Oftentimes, the lack of discipline is the only thing that can ever beat them. Kirby should bottle whatever he does, in this regard, and sell it.

This is really a ridiculous statement. He had flaws and limitations as a football coach but there are few people in this world who are more genuine than Mark Richt.
