I give most of the credit to the upperclassmen and their leadership on that team, plus there were Arkansas kids on that team who were sick and tired of losing and and they played their guts out and played over their heads at times. Plus we got breaks we don’t normally get.

That’s difficult, if not impossible, to replicate yearly.

The expectations after that season were set higher than they should have been. It was a fun season though.

I see this, but somebody got those upperclassmen to stay, others to buy in, and coached those boys. It was a sales job to begin with just to keep the better players with a never before Coordinator/HC.

THis isn't just responding to you. I am ready for a change, but I will give the dude credit for what he did... and grief for what he is doing!

Miss State 247 site reporter saying he's hearing rumblings of Odom behind the scenes..saying it either him, Pittman or Gus.

Don't know why, but I get a weird feeling Odom will be the guy and Sam will 'retire' (yet still get paid much of his buyout as a program ambassador or something).

It makes too much sense from Hunter's perspective. Former P5 HC who clearly was the behind the scenes HC under Sam and now he has a good year at UNLV.

Transition would also be pretty seamless and he obviously would not mind Sam still being around the program. It would also lighten the load on Hunter bringing an entirely new outsider like a Chadwell type who may or may not succeed at the P5/SEC level.

Personally, I'd make Curt Cignetti make tell me no 3x or more before if hire Odom, but I think Hunter is going to value program familiarity a lot.
